BIFM has entered into a partnership with the workplace consultancy 3edges to develop a Workplace Leadership programme comprising a series of training courses.

The programme is to be made available from the first quarter of 2018 and delivered through the BIFM Academy.

Two initiatives are informing the new programme. First, the publication by The Stoddart Review in December 2016 of its Workplace Advantage report, which highlighted the importance of the workplace as a strategic lever for organisations, and second, the results of research commissioned by BIFM and conducted by 3edges into what ‘workplace’ means for the FM profession.

Key findings from this research are to be made available to BIFM members in November, and will subsequently inform “a series of practitioner-focused guides exploring the cultural, technological and physical elements of workplace” to be published in early 2018.

BIFM chief executive Linda Hausmanis said: “BIFM has a responsibility to encourage and support our members and organisations in its awareness of the workplace. The programme that is being created is about building future capability in the drive to increase productivity and organisational performance.”

The programme is also being designed to be attractive to all professional disciplines – not only FM – which recognise ‘workplace’ as a critical lever to enhance the performance of their people and their organisations.

Further details will be announced in November. BIFM members can register their interest in the programme here: www.bifm.org.uk/workplace_leadership
