Lambeth Town Hall
Lambeth Town Hall

31 October 2017 | Herpreet Kaur Grewal

A five year contract between Engie and the London Borough of Lambeth has been extended to 31 March 2019 with an annual contract value of circa £6m.

The total facilities management (TFM) partnership between the London Borough of Lambeth and Engie  - which was Finalist for the BIFM Award 2017 for Impact on Society - has been delivering services for the local community since 2012.

Engie delivers TFM across approximately 250 sites in Lambeth comprising parks, leisure centres, offices, one-stop shops, toilet blocks, listed buildings and civic landmarks, including Lambeth Town Hall.

Services include hard facilities management including: £5m of major and minor project works; cleaning to 80 council and community buildings and 18 schools; manned security and front of house at 8 community sites including customer contact centres and libraries; and cash collection and management from parking machines and customer contact centres.

Engie has worked in close partnership with Lambeth Council to create “a more sustainable and strong community over the last five years”.

In 2016, Lambeth was ranked the 8th most deprived borough in London and 22nd most deprived in England. This is an improved relative position since 2010 when Lambeth was ranked as the 14th most deprived authority in England.

There is no change in scope in Engie’s services under the contract extension but the estate is changing to incorporate the Your New Town Hall regeneration project.

This programme is part of a wider rationalisation of the council’s estate. The town hall has been completely refurbished so the specification for cleaning, security and hard services will be of a very high standard to maintain the warranty on all equipment. The estate will also include a newly built civic centre due to be occupied from mid-February 2018.
