Mitie already provides services at two immigration centres

25 July 2019 | Herpreet Kaur Grewal

Mitie’s Care & Custody division has been named as a supplier on the government’s Prison Operator Services (POS) framework.

The Ministry of Justice launched the POS framework to effectively manage a pipeline of competition for new prisons and potentially existing privately managed prisons over the next six years.

Mitie has a strategy to broaden the range of essential services it delivers to government and other public sector bodies, and builds on its previous experience in delivering custodial services to the UK government.

The division already provides removal and detention services at two immigration centres, as well as forensic medical services in several custody suites across the UK.

The engagement follows Mitie’s other recent appointments to both the CCS frameworks for Defence and Security in April 2019, and the CCS Facilities Management framework in July 2018.
