When faced with two similar employment offers, 80 per cent of workers said they’d turn down the option that didn’t offer flexible working, according to a major workplace survey by the International Workplace Group.

At the start of 2019, more than 15,000 business people from over 80 countries spoke to IWG about the changing workplace and flexible working.

IWG stated that workers' answers suggested "a marked power shift towards the employee when it comes to dictating what an average working day looks like".

Other findings in the research show that 50 per cent of employees globally are working outside of their main office headquarters for at least two and half days a week.

Many of those surveyed – 85 per cent – confirmed productivity has increased in their business as a result of greater flexibility, while 65 per cent of businesses surveyed said flexible workspaces helps manage risk and consolidates their portfolio.
