Our selection of workplace and facilities management announcements made this week.

TOILETS: A report by Formica Group has revealed the British public’s discontent towards public washrooms. The survey of 2,000 respondents found that the British public is underwhelmed with toilets in places serving food and drink, with only five per cent considered ‘spotless’. Two-thirds of respondents agree that the cleanliness of a bathroom reflects the quality of the food served.

APPOINTMENT: Incentive Lynx has appointed Jaime de Gouveia as business development manager. Gouveia will be tasked with working alongside new and existing clients to fully understand their requirements and ensure they have access to the most suitable services and solutions.

STANDARDS: Daventry-based Catering Design Group has become one of the first companies to sign up to the new ceda SAFE Health & Safety Accreditation Scheme. The ceda SAFE scheme was devised because of the need for a single assessment standard for the foodservice, catering and hospitality industry.

TRAINING: Esh Group sponsored two events at Northumbrian Water’s Innovation Festival, including helping to bridge the gender gap in STEM via their mothers’ and daughters’ perception of STEM. The workshop provided an insight for women looking to progress in the digital, advanced manufacturing, energy, utilities and construction industries.

COMPANY GROWTH: Fire safety firm HESIS has opened a southern base in Crawley as it experiences continued growth. The company says it has increased the amount of work it carries out on behalf of single site SME businesses. It reported a turnover of £11 million employing 100 people nationwide.
