This is a list of frequently asked questions about Facilitate and the Facilitate website. If you can't find what you are looking for in the list of questions please send us your question using the help form at the bottom of the page.
The Facilitate website is the online magazine of the IWFM. It contains news and views from the wider workplace and facilities management sector. The IWFM website is a resource of institute-related news and knowledge, focusing on the institute’s policy and research work, as well as its qualifications and training.
Current news stories, opinion pieces, explainers and other articles not included in the print magazine are published without a paywall on the Facilitate web site.
No. Content published in the print edition is only accessible to members of the IWFM, and is either sent to members by post or accessed as a digital edition via the IWFM’s own web site.
Separately, Facilitate produces online content that relates to content published in the magazine. We also run at least five news articles about what's happening in the workplace and facilities management sector. There are also more jobs online via iwfmjobs.net than in the hard copy of the magazine.
We write news and features in-house, employing freelance journalists and experts in the field when necessary. If you have an idea for a feature, please send a synopsis of 100-200 words to [email protected] or call 020 7880 6229. Your synopsis should outline very briefly what the main idea is and what might be included in the feature.
There are also opportunities to write short viewpoint pieces, practical explainer articles and legal updates. We will let you know quickly whether we want to take your suggestion forward, and in which way. We also welcome letters about content we publish. Please email these to [email protected]
In addition to the magazine, Facilitate publishes a daily email news service - the Facilitate Daily - which includes all the latest essential news about the workplace and facilities management sector including new business wins, mergers and acquisitions, financial results, market research, legislative updates and event reports. News for the Facilitate Daily should be sent to the news editor Herpreet Grewal at [email protected] - or you can call her on 020 7880 8544.
No. Although Facilitate is the magazine of the IWFM, the bulk of the editorial is independent. We liaise with IWFM about its campaign and research priorities, with content often reflecting these priorities. The IWFM also supplies information on its policy, research and events activity, which we include as and when it is made available.
