Interserve Group is currently recruiting more than 200 people to deliver facilities services for a new NHS hospital set to open on 12th April.
The company has been commissioned by the UK Government to provide FM services to the hospital, in Manchester, that has been set up in a manner of days to treat COVID-19 patients. The facility is a repurposing of the Manchester Central conference centre, also known as the G-MEX.
The NHS Nightingale North West Hospital is due to open on 12th April in Manchester. As part of the deal, Interserve has pledged to mobilise the full suite of FM services in ten days. The company will provide catering, cleaning, maintenance, portering, concierge and waste management services. The facility will initially house around 500 beds, with the capacity to expand to 1,000.
Interserve joins other service providers in recruiting staff to provide for the surge in demand from the NHS.
The company’s construction arm is acting as principal contractor on the NEC Nightingale Hospital in Birmingham. NEC Nightingale will initially take 800 patients and will have full capacity for up to 4,000.
