Compass Group UK and Ireland has acquired the food and health technology company Feedr, in a move that it says will accelerate the service provider’s digital transformation.
The deal, completed in early March 2020, will play "a key role in reshaping the 'return to work' strategy" for the company. Compass plans to use Feedr’s software across its portfolio of corporate clients, with further potential applications of the technology in education and healthcare sectors.
Feedr describes itself as “ is an enterprise health platform transforming how employees access healthy food and better nutrition at work every day.”
The company’s platform “gives individual users the ability to set their own food goals, experience personalised menus and unique content, while benefiting from rewards and subsidies from their company.”
Compass expects Feedr’s mobile ordering and pre-pay technology to change how people interact with on-site restaurants, allowing employees to browse menus, pay and collect more flexibly. Workers can also use the app to track nutrition and health and personalise their daily eating. In addition to adopting Feedr technology for its own purposes, Compass will invest in growing the company as an independent brand within the group. Feedr will continue to operate in the delivery market with its Cloud Canteen product.
