Independents by Sodexo has been awarded a seven-year cleaning contract with Haberdashers’ Aske’s Elstree Schools in Hertfordshire.
Under the contract, which starts next month, Sodexo will deliver cleaning services for both the boys’ and the girls’ schools.
The boys’ school was founded in 1690 and the girls’ school in 1875. In 2017 Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School was rated as Sunday Times independent school of the year. The two schools share the same site in Elstree.
Jeremy Alderton, managing director of Independents by Sodexo, said: “Both schools are steeped in history and we know how important a clean, safe environment is. We will be applying our skills and expertise to ensure standards at both schools are at the highest level.”
Sodexo said it would “focus on enriching the student and staff experience at the two schools by driving innovation within the cleaning service and providing exceptional contract management support”.
It added that the deal demonstrates how Sodexo has continued to develop its services and worked with clients through the Covid-19 outbreak to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of its employees and all those it serves.
Michael Lewis, director of operations at Haberdashers Aske’s Elstree Schools, said: “We are looking forward to partnering with Sodexo to provide the peace of mind of our staff, parents and student body that the schools offer a safe and trusted environment in which our students can thrive.”
