Robinsons signs up as supplier to NHS North of England

Katie Challis – Robinsons Facilities Services

Yorkshire-based Robinsons Facilities Services has won a place on the NHS North of England’s list of trusted suppliers.

The commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical repair and maintenance specialist joins a list of firms accredited to undertake work at NHS hospitals across the North of England.

Robinsons secured its place on the NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC) framework following a competitive tender.

NOE CPC members include Harrogate Healthcare Facilities Management Ltd, Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The Estates Maintenance & Engineering (Hard FM) Framework is composed of 15 different lots. Robinsons is concentrating on lot 8 – plumbing and heating systems installation (supply and fit), repairs and servicing.

The appointment to the NOE CPC – wholly owned by the NHS and provides collaborative and bespoke procurement solutions to the NHS and other public sector organisations – is the third large contract that Robinsons Facilities Services has won in the past 12 months.

Katie Challis, the company’s director, said: “We actually tendered for this specific framework back in December, but the coronavirus pandemic delayed the review process, hence us only finding out now.

“To demonstrate our suitably we had to highlight our experience, skills, quality of work, social value and price. Being accepted on the NOE CPC is a massive boost for the businesses and builds on last year’s successes with Harrogate Borough Council and the University of York.”

In July 2019, the company won a competitive tender to maintain heating, ventilation and air conditioning in premises owned or managed by Harrogate Borough Council, as well as a 24/7 emergency repairs service.

It was also awarded a place by the University of York – a member of the Russell Group of research-intensive British universities – on its property maintenance framework.

The company now carries out planned and preventative maintenance and round-the-clock emergency repairs at hundreds of commercial and public sites across North, South, West and East Yorkshire.
