Duncan Waddell is to become the new chairman of the ISO/TC 267 technical committee, responsible for developing the ISO 41000 series of Facility Management standards.
Waddell, due to take the post in January, has worked within the FM sector for 34 years, and brings considerable experience to the role. He is past chairman of the Facility Management Association of Australia and current chairman of the Global Facilities Management Association.
He is also managing director of FM Intelligence Pty Ltd, based in Melbourne Australia, a consultancy operating worldwide.
Stan Mitchell, who has served as the chairman since 2011, will hand over to Waddell.
Mitchell said: “I have known Duncan for many years and I have no doubt that he will lead the technical committee in a professional manner and with an enthusiasm that will motivate those representatives of the 48 member countries who give of their time and experience to creating international standards for the benefit of all.
“Duncan’s FM knowledge and experience internationally as a strategic and professional discipline bode well as do his leadership qualities critical to the continued growth and output of ISO/TC 267.”
