Saltire Facilities Management has begun a 15-year servicing, maintenance, and installations contract in the West Midlands for social housing provider Stonewater.
The Glasgow-based central heating and electrical services provider will be supplying its services to Stonewater’s properties in West Midlands, Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire.
Leicestershire-based Stonewater manages more than 32,000 social housing units in England. The firm specialises in retirement and supported living schemes in addition to affordable properties for general rent, shared ownership and sale.
John Reynolds, Saltire’s general manager, said: “Our teams are excited to get started having spent the past few months preparing for this. With the current Covid situation making everything a bit more challenging, it is great to get started.
“This contract is a particularly important one for Saltire as we will use the new Midlands base to rapidly expand our private, domestic business in the region.”
Saltire – recently bought by UK building sector investment group United Capital – employs more 320 people across the UK and this contract sees the company branch into the Midlands for the first time. The contract will be run locally by Operations manager Mick Vale will run the contract from Saltire’s new Birmingham office.
