Sodexo has partnered with food technology company Dynamify to support the implementation of app-controlled retail and hospitality across its UK sites.
Sodexo’s catering division is working with Dynamify on an app-based digital retail platform to support activities such as scan-and-go, pre-order and pre-pay, delivery, table service, reservations and loyalty.
International company Dynamify works with food service partners to deliver a mobile-first experience, developed for consumers through their smartphones.
Sodexo’s app will allow consumers to buy from its restaurants and retail outlets, or to access delivered-in options, as well as ordering hospitality for meetings. The app, which is already deployed in Sodexo’s Asian operations, is being rolled out across UK corporate sites and universities over the next 12 months.
The company explained that Covid-19 has significantly affected people’s behaviours, particularly with regard to food service, retail and hospitality, so that over the next 12 to 18 months the food service sector needs to adapt to give consumers and clients more flexible solutions to manage the post-pandemic environment and beyond.
It allows personalised content and tailored promotions and will enable Sodexo to further support menu development and build loyalty. Crucially, it removes shared touchpoints and eliminates physical queuing while companies use social distancing.
Julie Ennis, CEO of corporate services at Sodexo UK & Ireland said: “Strategic deployment of digital technology is critical for creating the best consumer experiences in the workplace… The powerful combination of Sodexo’s food offerings with Dynamify’s market-leading technology platform makes a compelling proposition to both clients and consumers.
“Using consumer-facing digital applications for on-site food orders and contactless payment for on-site retail locations is the smart way to limit infection exposure risks as we support our clients over the next few months, as well as building the flexible capabilities we need.”
Maxwell Harding, founder & CEO of Dynamify, said: “Our technology is quickly demonstrating the best results and emerging as the most advanced solution on the market. The fact that one of the world’s largest food service providers is deploying Dynamify’s technology as a crucial element in their remobilisation strategy speaks for itself.”
