Interserve Group has announced the sale of Interserve Healthcare to City & County Healthcare Group (C&C).

The company, which provides complex and critical community healthcare to patients with a range of medical conditions across England, Wales and Scotland, has been sold to one of the largest providers of homecare services in the UK.

C&C operates from 200 locations in the UK and offers services across all homecare segments.

Interserve chairman Alan Lovell said that the sale of Interserve Healthcare “marks the ongoing progression of our business plan, which involves concentrating on our core businesses while also safeguarding an excellent future for colleagues within the businesses we have sold”.

James Thorburn, chief executive officer of City & County Healthcare Group, added: “Our immediate focus will be on maintaining the quality of service Interserve Healthcare is recognised for. In the longer term, we have a mission to transform community care using technology and we plan to invest in Interserve Healthcare to support its team in developing its service.

Jon Neal, Interserve Healthcare’s chief operating officer, said that C&C “shares our vision and values in delivering the best possible care and we are excited by the opportunities joining one of the UK’s largest providers of homecare services presents.

“Our colleagues have worked tirelessly throughout the Covid-19 pandemic to support our clients during challenging times and will be providing a continuity of service as we start our next chapter together.”
