Wates Group divisions have been named on four key lots of Camden Council’s four-year £620 million Property Works Framework.
Housing maintenance provider Wates Living Space and national contractor and developer Wates Residential have been linked to lots on the framework, which runs until 2024, and will cover thousands of properties across the London borough as well as sites in neighbouring Islington.
It replaces Camden’s Better Homes and Construction Framework, to which Wates was appointed in 2016. The award continues Wates’s 15-year partnership with the borough as its link with the council dates back to 2005 when Wates Living Space began maintaining and repairing its social housing stock.
Under the new framework, Wates will bid for work under the following lots:
- Lot one: General building improvement works
- Lot two: Cyclical decorations and repairs
- Lot three: Fire safety upgrades
- Lot seven: New-build and regeneration
Gary Wilkinson, regional managing director of Wates Living Space said: “We have delivered key maintenance and repair works at over 33,000 homes across the borough for many years and we look forward to continuing to support Camden and its residents over the coming years.”
Helen Bunch, managing director for Wates Residential, added: “Our award-winning partnership with Camden Council at Abbey Area saw the completion of over 140 much-needed high-quality new homes and the creation of over £3.9 million of social value for the local community. This included £61,000 spent with social enterprises and £24,000 donated to local causes.”
