IWFM conference 2021

The IWFM has announced the date of its flagship conference as Monday 13 September 2021.

The theme of the event will be ‘Emerging Stronger’.

The event pairs a physical delegate experience with a digital one in "a curated blend of world-renowned thought leadership and cutting-edge best practice", says the institute.

It states that workplace and facilities management “has come to and remained at the fore during the coronavirus pandemic”.

In addition to its role on the front line, "the conversation about how best to support remote working; the action to make spaces secure and safe; the innovation to create new types of productive spaces; and a better understanding about the importance of the spaces in which we work" has underlined the importance of the sector and given it a chance to highlight its various functions.

Expert contributors will build on this and discuss the lessons of the pandemic. The IWFM said the conference would “provide both the inspiration and the information to help organisations and the wider profession emerge stronger”.

Chris Moriarty, director of insight and engagement at IWFM, said: “As professionals, we all know how to adapt to our environment but last year probably stretched that idea further than any time in our careers – and it chimed perfectly with our theme of navigating turbulent times. We see 2021’s event as the start of a forward-focused, positively charged evolution.

“So many lessons have emerged from the pandemic. It has accelerated change ideas. It has made us reconsider established models. Now is the time to assess, learn and use that experience to shape our new future and emerge stronger. By combining world-class speakers on key topics with leading practitioners to explore and showcase, we’ll help workplace and facilities managers to make best practice common practice.”

Sponsors for the conference include workplace and facilities management provider EMCOR UK.

Planon, a facility and property management software company, is returning as technology sponsor for the third year running. The IWFM will be having an official launch with more details coming soon.

IWFM Conference 2021 takes place Monday 13 September at etc. venues St Paul’s, London, EC1A 4HD. For more information visit www.iwfm.org.uk/
