A Cignpost Diagnostics’ mobile testing laboratory – Cignpost Diagnostics Ltd
Total waste management firm Axil Integrated Services has won a contract with private Covid-19 screening firm Cignpost Diagnostics, which is conducting tests at 30 sites in the UK.
Under the deal, Axil is managing waste services at Cignpost Diagnostics’ laboratory facilities as well as its testing sites across sectors including elite sport, defence, media and finance and for companies such as Netflix, Amazon, the BBC, the Scottish Premiership and the PGA European Tour.
A key site is ExpressTest, the consumer division of Cignpost Diagnostics, based at Heathrow Airport – the UK’s largest drive-through Covid-19 private testing site. The 24-lane drive-through facility is capable of testing more than 5,000 people a day and includes two on-site laboratories to ensure that passengers get fast and accurate test results.
The national waste operator said it expects more locations to be added soon.
Jason Lang, Axil’s commercial director, said: “This is a fast-moving contract, with Cignpost Diagnostics Ltd adding new test sites across the country all the time. We are perfectly positioned to help them with this because Axil is extremely reactive and can quickly respond to our clients’ ever-changing needs and demands.”
Christian Corney, CEO of Cignpost Diagnostics, said: “We are very pleased with not only the quality but also the service we have received from Axil. Their seamless and efficient operation allows our scientists to deliver our gold-standard PCR test results quickly and optimally. Their waste services keep our labs clean and running smoothly, meaning we can focus on helping our clients get back to work and protecting their employees.”
Axil, based in Corby, carries out waste management across the UK including recycling, waste recovery, treatment disposal, and commodity trading.
