Workplace change and relocation specialist Business Moves Group (BMG) has won a contract with Three Mobile to relocate staff to its Reading base in Berkshire.
The telecoms group launched in the UK in 2003 and now has 4,800 employees, and more than 10 million customers.
Three has corporate offices in Reading, Maidenhead and Glasgow. BMG will support Three in relocating all Maidenhead staff to the Reading office. The move should be completed by late March.
The deal involves sustainable furniture solutions, starting with a full audit to determine the quantity, condition and the location of all furniture. Following the audit, BMG will collaborate with Three to determine the best option for all furniture – including reuse, resale, recycling and donation. The goal is nil to landfill as far as is feasible to meet Three’s corporate social responsibility targets. Suitable furniture could be donated to local schools.
Because most staff will not be on-site because of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, BMG will be bagging up all personal locker items still in the Maidenhead office and will relocate these bags to the Reading office.
The project is being overseen by property and construction consultancy Gleeds. The consultant is also providing Three with office project management, cost management and relocation project management services.
Dave Myers, BMG sales director, said: “A two-pronged relocation project is an exciting challenge and we’re delighted to be supporting Three. The project is particularly meaningful to BMG as we are based in Reading and it’s great to work with a company that employs so many in the local area.”
William Robinson, senior workspace manager at Three, added: “Relocating staff to Reading and then to a new central office is a complex task and we were keen to work with a relocation expert. BMG ticks all of the boxes.”
