Angus Council in Scotland has appointed MPS to carry out repairs and maintenance of council homes in the borough.
MPS, social housing maintenance division of the Mears Group, will be managing responsive repairs and empty dwellings for Angus Council from 1 April, in addition to its existing planned work services for council properties in the area.
The five-year contract, worth £10 million, was won after a competitive tendering process and is for works split over two lots covering repairs and maintenance for at least 4,000 properties in Brechin and Montrose, and Forfar and Kirriemuir.
Chris Nixon, operations director for MPS, said: “We place social value at the heart of our business and we look forward to working with our customer to develop shared objectives as to how we can contribute back to the community. MPS is not just a contractor but a local employer and our operatives are members of the community in which we will be working.”
