Daventry Norse, Norse Group’s joint venture in Daventry, has adopted West Northamptonshire Norse as its new title in line with the county’s forthcoming local government reorganisation.
Norse’s current environmental services partner, Daventry District Council, will be replaced by the new West Northamptonshire Council on 1 April.
The new unitary authority, which will also replace Northampton Borough, South Northamptonshire councils and the county council, will become Norse’s collective joint venture partner for providing environmental services in the area. Norse launched the partnership with Daventry District Council in 2018. The group said the name change underlines its long-term commitment to the area.
West Northamptonshire Norse will continue to supply the same wide range of frontline services, including waste collection, grounds maintenance, maintaining play equipment and street cleaning.
Nick Drake, operations director at West Northamptonshire Norse, said: “Despite our name change, it will be very much business as usual for us, as we all seek to pull together to provide the best services we can for the people of West Northamptonshire.”
Councillor Jo Gilford, environment portfolio holder at Daventry District Council and a member of the West Northamptonshire Shadow Authority, added: “We are pleased to see the joint venture’s new name link to the future unitary council and wish West Northamptonshire Norse every success going forward.”
