Outsourcing service provider Bidvest Noonan has agreed to purchase M&E engineering and water treatment firm Interact, a Dublin-based specialist in complete facilities support and building fabric services for the built environment.
The deal also includes H2O Solutions, Interact’s water treatment business. It is the second takeover of the year for Bidvest Noonan, which acquired Maidstone-based security group Axis in February.
The agreement – still subject to approval by Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission –would raise the company’s profile in Ireland and “significantly enhance our service offering and enable us to offer clients even greater value and support”, said Bidvest Noonan.
It stressed that the hard FM acquisition would not affect its UK operations, where its “focus remains on growing our security and facilities services businesses”.
The group added: “Interact is an exceptional business with a reputation for exceeding industry standards and leading best practice. The business employs 80 skilled and experienced people and operates nationwide across Ireland. It has a strong presence in many of our key sectors, including the retail, healthcare, education, commercial, and public sectors.”
In recognition of their strong profiles in Ireland, the Interact and H2O Solutions brands would be retained and Bidvest Noonan would transition its own M&E services business into Interact, doubling its size, and cementing its position as a market leader in the country.
“Our dedicated transition team will implement a tried-and-tested integration plan to ensure a seamless transition. There will be no disruption to the services we deliver.” Philip Murphy, Interact’s managing director, is to lead the enlarged business.
