MTS Health is the UK’s main provider of medical equipment asset management – Sodexo

Sodexo has purchased MTS Health Limited to expand its remit in the healthcare sector.

MTS Health, founded in 1999, is the UK’s main provider of medical equipment asset management with expertise in clinical engineering – a biomedical speciality to use technology to optimise healthcare delivery.

It specialises in strategic equipment planning, procurement, clinical engineering and medical equipment asset management. MTS mobilises professional teams of clinical scientists, clinical engineers, CIPS procurement and project managers.

The company is taking part in the government’s Health Infrastructure Plan and recently won a large operational project delivering clinical engineering services to 91 healthcare sites.

MTS Health has commissioned more than 30 large hospital redevelopments nationwide over 20 years and was recently awarded the BBH Clinicians’ Choice Award.

Sodexo explained that the acquisition enables it to build on existing business in the US and Asia Pacific regions, and MTS Health’s breadth of technical knowledge and operational experience would enhance services for clients in the UK and Ireland.

Stuart Winters, CEO of healthcare for Sodexo UK and Ireland, said: “At Sodexo, we work side by side with our clients to improve outcomes in a way that creates value for patients, providers and the communities we serve and so to be able to provide first-class leading equipment asset management services to our clients is key to achieving this.”

Caroline Finlay and Ruth Strickland will continue to lead MTS Health as chief operating officers.

Strickland said: Working with Sodexo will ensure that we can continue to invest in our talented personnel, and maximise the benefits of technology as digital hospitals are created, whilst retaining our ‘client first’ approach.”
