Facilities, asset, and workplace management services provider EMCOR UK has been awarded a multimillion-pound FM contract by Practice Plus Group across its whole estate.
The contract runs for an initial period of three years and includes the option for a two-year extension.
Practice Plus Group (formerly Care UK Healthcare) is England's largest independent provider of NHS services (treating both NHS and private patients), including GP practices, NHS walk-in centres, GP out-of-hours services, prison health services and clinical assessment and diagnostics facilities.
Under the contract, which gets under way in May, EMCOR UK will deliver a range of services at 20 sites across the UK including at nine surgical units and four call centres dealing with out-of-hours and NHS 111 calls. The company will manage planned and reactive maintenance of engineering services, building fabric, and specialist medical plant at the sites.
Jeremy Campbell, EMCOR UK’s executive director of marketing and business development, said: “Our services are designed to help Practice Plus Group concentrate on its core healthcare business whilst we focus on creating an excellent patient experience and workplace environment for its employees.“
James Monteith, head of facilities at Practice Plus Group, said: “We look forward to working with EMCOR UK and were impressed by their collaborative approach, ability to self-deliver the majority of our requirements and commitment to a smooth transition and operational mobilisation, all of which is essential for us to deliver the highest standards of healthcare to all our patients and ultimately fulfil our promise to give ‘Access to Excellence’.”
