Levy UK + Ireland, the sports and leisure hospitality division of Compass Group, has announced contract renewals with Jockey Club Racecourses and The Kia Oval in London.
Following news that the government plans for large-scale events to reopen this summer as part of the 'Roadmap out of Lockdown', Levy said the caterer and its key partners would “ensure each venue offers world-class hospitality”.
Levy's renewed contract with Jockey Club Racecourses, the UK's largest racecourse group, will see the caterer extend its catering venture, Jockey Club Catering, for another three years. Jockey Club Catering launched in 2009 with an initial 10-year partnership agreement to provide catering, hospitality and service at The Jockey Club's racecourses nationwide, including those at Aintree, Cheltenham, Epsom Downs and Newmarket. Jockey Club Catering has driven growth in catering revenues at the Jockey Club's 15 racecourses.
The renewal of the contract with The Kia Oval, home of Surrey County Cricket Club, marks a five-year extension to the current partnership, which will see Levy providing food and drink at the venue until at least February 2027, working in partnership with The Kia Oval to build on the venue's position as a leader amongst UK venues in sustainability initiatives, with all drinks served in recyclable, reusable glass or in a washable glass vessel including the removal of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles, including those used for water.
Managing director Jon Davies said: “As sports and entertainment fans across the country look forward to a return to large-scale events on the back of the pandemic, Levi UK & Ireland is proud to extend its partnership with both of these fantastic venues, and is keen to build on the already innovative customer experiences it provides. As part of our Levy Cares initiative, we remain committed to reducing waste produced within our venues … We can't wait to welcome visitors back."
