Housing maintenance provider United Living Property Services has signed a 10-year partnership with social housing group Lewisham Homes.
Under the 10-year accord, worth about £160 million, United Living will repair housing across the south of the London borough.
The work includes:
- External enveloping;
- Other external refurbishment works such as decorations and rainwater goods;
- Replacing kitchens and bathrooms;
- Door and window substitutes; and
- Rewiring and roofing.
Sam Hazelton, divisional director of United Living Property Services, said: “The partnership agreement is an excellent opportunity to really make a difference to people’s lives as we work in partnership with Lewisham Homes to improve the housing stock.”
Mark Newstead, Director of Property Services & Safety, Lewisham Homes, said: “Their recent work for us includes a major refurbishment and recladding project on three high-rise blocks in New Cross. It has proved that they respect our residents and understand the importance of good governance, value for money, quality and accountability.”
United Living Property Services is already carrying out a building safety and refurbishment programme at three 13-storey blocks on behalf of Lewisham Homes after tests revealed combustible cladding. Work on the scheme began in July 2017 and includes installing smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, upgraded windows, new doors and balconies and structural works.
