Compass Group subsidiary Restaurant Associates Venues has secured the contract to provide catering and hospitality services at London’s Imperial War Museum.
The three-year contract sees the caterer take on all food and beverage operations for both day catering as well as events at the venue. It already provides services at the IWM Group’s other wartime museums at Duxford, HMS Belfast, Churchill War Rooms and IWM North in Manchester.
The museum, founded in 1917 and situated near Waterloo's rail services, is the world’s leading museum commemorating war and conflict.
Located just off the main atrium on the ground floor, the café at the IWM London offers visitors a range of freshly made hot and cold food using seasonal produce, overseen by RA Venues’ group chef Ian Human. IWM London also plans to open a terrace café for guests to enjoy al fresco snacks or meals in the grounds of the historic building.
Steve Chandler, managing director of Restaurant Associates Venues, said: “Restaurant Associates Venues and IWM Group have enjoyed a long and prosperous relationship... IWM London is a leading museum that attracts people from all corners of the globe and we’re excited to offer our seasonal menus to visitors.”
Gemma Brown, IWM head of commercial events, experiences and catering, added: “It's really important that we can provide our visitors with a great place to relax and grab something to eat and are delighted to be working with Restaurant Associate Venues, who will be enhancing the food and drink offering at the museum café. We are also looking forward to opening our outdoor seating very soon, which will be perfect for the summer months.”
