Lambeth Council has renewed its contract with Mears Group’s housing maintenance division MPS to supply gas servicing and repairs to homes in the borough.
Continuing its 13-year relationship with the local authority, MPS will maintain, renovate and install new domestic heating systems across the London borough from early July.
The deal is valued at about £4.8 million a year for up to 14 years, which the company said reflects the excellence in compliance, service delivery, low complaints and effective budget control that MPS has made in delivering gas servicing and repairs to about 10,000 domestic properties in Lambeth.
Paul Reader, MPS‘s gas manager for Lambeth, said: “We provide gas services to ensure houses are homes; this is further validation of the hard work and service that we have provided our client and residents for the last 13 years.
“We look forward to working with our customer to develop shared objectives as to how we can contribute back into the community, especially on our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.
“MPS is not just a contractor but a local employer and our operatives are members of the community in which we will be working.”
