Capita’s Local Public Services business has extended its current contract with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH).
The extension, worth £27.1 million over three years, runs from 2022. Capita will carry on delivering a range of corporate services for the trust including estates and facilities management, performance analytics, procurement, IT, business intelligence and finance.
The trust is London’s largest community healthcare organisation – with more than two million people depending on its programmes. Its 3,000 health professionals provide rehabilitation and urgent care across the boroughs of Barnet, Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Merton, Wandsworth and Harrow, as well as Hertfordshire.
Capita’s work with the trust enables frontline health professionals to better focus on their roles and provide care and support to patients.
Under the contract extension, Capita will also contribute to the trust’s broader digital transformation programme to make the services it delivers more efficient and enable it to target resources at areas of greatest patient demand. Through its IT service to the trust, Capita will work with healthcare professionals to improve their digital capability by providing them with new devices, including laptops, to help them deliver care more efficiently.
The partnership extension follows Capita‘s support for the trust during the Covid-19 pandemic. In February 2020, Capita supported the trust’s organisation of England’s first Covid-19 testing drive-through facility in a community. The provider has also helped to carry out deep cleans across multiple sites, supported coordination and distribution of PPE equipment, and deployed at least 1,000 computers to health professionals who transitioned to homeworking.
Capita said it will continue to use its experience of digital transformation programmes to deliver corporate services to the trust.
Andy Start, CEO of Capita Government Services, said: “It is testament to the strength of our partnership with the trust and our successful track record of delivery that our team has won this new work.”
