Zest Recycle's Tony McPartland

Brentwood-based recycling and waste management company Waste Cost Reduction Services Ltd (WCRS) has rebranded to Zest Recycle. The firm is a part of the Windsor Integrated Services Group. Facilitate spoke to managing director of Zest Recycle, Tony McPartland, who was recently appointed.

The significance of and reasons for the brand change

A huge amount has changed since the business was established over 20 years ago. We wanted to ensure our fresh approach to resource management was captured within the new name. The change moves us away from the cost element of the previous name. Whilst value for money is a key consideration - and this is achieved through our approach of extracting value from waste resources - there are more considerations for the vast majority of our client base.

Alongside this, we have created some hero statements, one of those being START FRESH – which is exactly what we want to do for our customers, but this also sits strategically with what we, as a business are doing. The dots icon within our logo design encompasses our approach to building long-lasting sustainable partnerships with our clients and supply partners.

Define “a fresh perspective on long-standing recycling and waste management problems”?

We have a specific approach to waste management. With no collection or processing infrastructure of our own, we can tailor our solutions and provision to get the best for the customer. We ensure that clients’ needs are met by our range of supply partners, most of which are SME and local partners. This approach delivers real value back into communities as well as supporting carbon reduction.

We also get to know our client and their operations by interrogating data forensically and we marry this with robust physical audits so that each service provision is exactly what the customer needs. We are also committed to building meaningful long-lasting partnerships with clients and partners that share our vision and desire to deliver social value. It’s these partnerships that set us apart.

Plans for future expansion

We recently secured a high-profile public-sector contract which has added additional benefits and opportunities within our business. We have a strategy in place to be at the forefront of the UK waste broker market and be recognised as one of the go-to companies for businesses who want to get more from their contracts, want to have real sustainable achievement, and be open to new strategies to put the squeeze on their waste.
