114 UK-based firms in business sectors ranging from housing, financial services, tech, and pharmaceuticals have been recognised for providing the 'best workplaces for women'.
Salesforce, The Sovini Group, Foundation SP and Signify Technology were among businesses highlighted in a list produced by the UK branch of Great Place to Work, a workplace culture body.
To determine its Best Workplaces for Women list, Great Place to Work UK administered its research-backed Trust Index employee survey and analysed the responses of UK-based female employees.
The survey found that organisations where women reported a highly positive workplace experience had programmes in place to tackle the specific challenges facing women during the pandemic, while also addressing the issues of equal pay and career progression.
Great Place to Work has also launched its annual Women at Work publication. Key insights from this year’s edition include:
Quality of life and work: On average, 78 per cent of female employees at Best Workplaces reported that their organisation was a “psychologically and emotionally healthy place to work”.
Building a culture of trust: 87 per cent of female employees in Best Workplaces felt that their “management trusts them to do a good job”.
Supporting career growth: Women make up 38 per cent of the senior leadership team in these recognised organisations, whereas the proportion of women in FTSE 350 leadership teams only reached 29.4 per cent in 2020.
