EQUANS has extended its contract with Manchester City Council (MCC) to provide hard facilities management services to more than 400 council buildings in the city.

The £15 million contract started in 2019 and has been extended until 2023.

John Haynes, regional managing director (North) at EQUANS, said: “Manchester City Council is fully committed to offering the best public facilities for its constituents and we’re delighted to be supporting them in achieving this ambition.

“Over the last two years, our expert team has been dedicated to delivering a high-quality FM service for the Council and the local community, completing over 40,000 jobs across the city and achieving 100% statutory compliance, so it’s a fantastic achievement to be awarded a contract extension.

“Over the next year we will be building on the zero carbon and sustainability initiatives we’ve already commenced, to ensure we support MCC’s commitment to reducing their carbon emissions by 50% by 2030.”

EQUANS has invested over £1.1 million across Manchester, supporting local charities and partnered with education facilities to prepare students for future careers by providing development and apprenticeship opportunities to people across the city.
