In this year-end series detailing the most popular stories, products and reports in this extraordinary year, we present here the three most-downloaded IWFM good practice guides. (Click the headers to visit each GPG's page directly.)
Risk management
Perhaps predictably, this practical guide on Risk Management was one of the most downloaded IWFM Good Practice Guides of the year. In uncertain times following the disruption of the pandemic, it provides FMs with an understanding of how to identify and manage risk, understand the risk management process, and set out a risk management strategy, as well as how to identify threats and opportunities. Based on the international standard for Risk Management ISO 31000, and aligned to IWFM qualifications at all levels, the guide also includes a risk management framework, templates and other recommended sources of further information.
Recycling, waste and resource management
As environmental issues become ever more pressing for organisations of all kinds, this practical guide on recycling, waste and resource management was one of the most popular downloads that IWFM offered this year. At a time when customers, staff, shareholders and the government all want organisations to reduce their impact on the environment, meeting legislation and cost-effectively managing waste have never been more important. Supported by Reconomy and aligned to IWFM qualifications at levels 2-6, this Good Practice Guide provides the knowledge and direction to enable the proper handling of recycling and waste management.
Facilities management procurement
Another popular IWFM download, this is an essential guide for procurement professionals that are involved in purchasing products or services for an organisation. It sets out how the procurement process functions when both working independently and when working as part of a team. The Good Practice Guide is also aligned to IWFM qualifications and supporting procurement modules at levels 4, 5 and 6.
