Wates Property Services has been awarded a place on a £750 million decarbonisation framework by procurement body Fusion 21.
The decarbonisation framework will deliver projects focused on raising energy efficiency in housing association properties and public sector buildings, including thermal fabric refurbishment, heating, renewables and other upgrades.
Wates will carry out work split across two lots – Lot 1: Whole House Decarbonisation, which covers domestic dwellings, and Lot 2: Decarbonisation of Public and Education Buildings, covering non-domestic buildings.
The provider currently operates under the PAS2035 retrofit standards framework, and Lot 2 of this framework will provide the first route to operate under PAS2038 standards.
Ben Williams, head of Zero Carbon for Wates Property Services, said: “Working with our clients to support the journey to net zero is an area of huge importance to us, and we look forward to bringing our expertise, partnerships and lessons learned from our existing projects under both the Local Authority Delivery (LAD) and Social Housing Demonstrator Fund (SHDF) schemes to benefit the framework members.
“The framework will also offer our clients a direct award procurement option for government-funded projects, including the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 1 and 2 which we are involved in,” added Williams.
