Norse Group is joining forces with Devon County Council to create a new FM and property management business.
The partnership, South West Norse, involves the merging of Devon Norse’s FM, cleaning and catering operations with NPS South West’s multidisciplinary property advisory services.
The venture began on 1 May. Existing joint enterprises between the Norse Group and Devon County Council have separately won several contracts, and these will continue under the combined business.
The Norse Group works with clients across a range of sectors and is noted for its joint ventures with local authorities.
The alliance with Devon County Council will run until 2027 and will help the local authority to achieve its strategic priorities, including pandemic recovery plans.
Matt Wilby, the new operations director for South West Norse, said the arrangement would enable expertise across both joint ventures to be combined and services to be extended. “South West Norse will not only provide greater efficiencies but will also allow us to work closer together as a team and develop new commercial opportunities,” he said.
Councillor John Hart, county council’s leader and cabinet member responsible for property, added: “Devon County Council is pleased to announce the creation of South West Norse based on the strong foundations of the successful partnership it has built with Norse over the past 15 years. The combined joint venture offers the opportunity to innovate and change the way services are delivered, to be more efficient by integrating property and FM services and support and work closely with the council.”
