UK supply chain compliance consultant CHAS has introduced Verified Supplier, a service to enable facilities management material suppliers to demonstrate their commitment to safe and ethical operations.
As supply chains come under increasing pressure and scrutiny, FM material suppliers need to comply with a growing list of legislation and guidelines encompassing health and safety, quality assurance, environmental protection and ethical practices.
A co-founder of Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) and the Common Assessment Standard, CHAS states that becoming a Verified Supplier is an easy way to prove compliance across a range of risk management areas through a single verification, reducing duplication of prequalification questionnaires (PQQs) and making it simpler to pre-qualify with clients for contracts across the UK.
It adds that the service also helps suppliers to highlight their adherence to the following regulations:
- UK GDPR
- Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
- Modern Slavery Act 2015
- Environment Act 2021
- Equality Act 2010
Verified Suppliers also get access to CHAS’s other benefits, including discounted training courses, free legal advice and savings with TradePoint, Speedy Hire, Checkatrade. Clients can find verified materials suppliers alongside verified subcontractors through the free CHAS Client Portal.
Ian McKinnon, CHAS managing director, said: “The launch of CHAS Verified Supplier underlines CHAS’s commitment to simplifying prequalification while raising risk management standards and ensuring that responsible businesses thrive.”
