The IWFM’s Pay and Prospects Survey – usually conducted annually, but not in 2020 – helps the institute to identify trends in pay and working conditions, as well as prospects for new and established workplace and facilities management professionals.
With the double impact of Brexit and Covid-19 and it’s essential to gauge where the profession is and provide an informed picture of its current and future landscape. But the IWFM needs members’ help.
The institute is calling on all members to complete the survey and share their valuable experiences to benefit the profession. Those interested have until Friday 19 March to complete the survey.
All information will be treated confidentially and data is shared at an aggregate level only.
The IWFM chose not to run the survey in 2020 because of all the strain the profession and country were under owing to the pandemic. However, the annual survey offers a snapshot of salaries, benefits, and training and qualifications throughout the profession, and explores evolving trends in sentiments and experiences.
The core finding from the 2019 Pay and Prospects Survey was that challenging or interesting work was critical to the participants’ choice of employer. Workplace and facilities managers wanted recognition, a good work-life balance and challenging experiences – but suitable remuneration remained the most important factor, which can require upskilling to achieve.
