Giving back
In time for World FM Day, we published our member-exclusive IWFM Market Outlook 2023 report, revealing vital insights into the FM sector’s performance, its key challenges, and thinking on how to navigate them.
Alongside bringing members extra value in our 30th year (and beyond), in 2023, we will celebrate three decades of the Institute by diving into the sector’s past, present and future. Fittingly, our new Market Outlook research provides a pulse check for the sector, including reflections on the past year, expectations for the coming year, and IWFM’s advice on challenges affecting you today. I hope it helps you in your role.
IWFM changed workspaces in March – timed for when our lease expired – to realise our post-pandemic shift to a more efficient, economical, and flexible approach to work.
Planning the change, it was important to us to do the right thing for communities and the environment. Working with ethical clearance provider Waste to Wonder, we saved 3,877kg in carbon by donating office equipment worth £3,950 to the Mokwe Development Association, a non-profit organisation in Cameroon supporting disadvantaged young people.
We also donated furniture directly to local schools and offered miscellaneous office items to the IWFM team in return for donations, raising £830 for mental health charity MIND, the chosen charity of IWFM Chair Mark Whittaker.
We are proud to support those who effect real change to the lives of many in the UK and beyond, just as we do by supporting our members in the workplace and facilities management profession.
