Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has won a five-year contract worth £90 million to provide total facilities management services for the Department for Transport (DfT).
The deal covers facilities at 11 departments - the DfT and nine of its agencies, plus the Environment Agency (EA).
These include the DfT's Whitehall headquarters building, plus the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency, Maritime & Coastguard Agency, British Transport Police, Highways England, Air Accident Investigation Branch, HS2 Ltd, Government Car Service, Rail Accident Investigation Branch, and the Vehicle Certification Agency.
Interserve will carry out a wide range of services including engineering, cleaning, security, reception, landscaping and ground maintenance, helpdesk, porterage, mail room, and catering at more than 1,100 buildings across the UK.
It is the first time that a single provider has handled FM services for all 11 departments.
The contract marks a fresh chapter in Interserve's long-standing relationship with DfT, and will see integrated working practices introduced to increase operational efficiency across the estate.
