Support services group Interserve has been awarded a £13 million, five-year contract to deliver facilities management services to Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The company, working with trust for the first time, will provide domestic cleaning, window cleaning and grounds and gardens services to the main 789-bed Poole Hospital site, including St Mary's Maternity Unit and the Forest Holme Hospice.
A key element of the account is the focus on service delivery and improvements through innovation.
Martin Burholt, managing director of communities at Interserve, said: "Our extensive work within the health sector has enabled us to develop a strong understanding of the NHS. Our approach is always to provide a unique service solution, investing in the latest equipment to deliver high service standards, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all."
Interserve is one of the largest managers of healthcare facilities in the UK and operates in all healthcare environments. The company designs and builds healthcare buildings across the UK and has more than 4,000 team members delivering daily non-clinical healthcare-related support services nationwide. This includes everything from maintenance, security, catering, portering and car parking to providing care to patients with complex care needs, most of which are delivered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
