G4S Secure Solutions has won a contract to secure the Department for Work and Pensions' (DWP) estate of more than 700 properties in England, Wales and Scotland.
Under what the security firm calls "one of the largest integrated security contracts of its kind awarded in the UK", its security technology will be combined with professionally trained G4S security officers across the DWP estate.
The approach combines the group's manned security, security technology and integration capabilities.
The contract begins in April 2018 and runs for an initial period of five years, with a potential two-year extension thereafter.
Doug Hewitson, G4S secure solutions UK managing director, said the deal would "reshape the current security provision to provide a safe and secure environment for DWP customers and staff".
