Yorkshire-based drainage company Jet Aire Services has won a contract to carry out planned preventative maintenance using no-dig pipe lining technology at a chemical plant near Blackpool.
The programme of remedial works at Victrex's facility in Thornton Cleveleys follows an initial contract involving a comprehensive site cleanse with high-pressure water jetting and a CCTV condition survey with Jet Aire's Zone 1 Rated Atex explosion-proof camera system.
Partner contractor Future Industrial Service has completed waste disposal in preparation for Jet Aire's patching and lining repairs to sections identified in the survey.
Jet Aire services director Keith Ferris said: "Jet Aire's investment in a Zone 1 Rated Atex camera has enabled us to establish a specialism in sites which, like Victrex's plant, are subject to Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations. It allows us to navigate sections which require extra precautionary measures to undertake work. In recent years we have carried out similar preventative maintenance programmes at various chemical production facilities on behalf of a number of global manufacturing names."
Ferris added: "Preventative maintenance is vital in potentially hazardous environments as it helps to ensure environmental compliance and identifies weaknesses or problematic areas which, if left unaddressed, would require far costlier remedial works at some point in the future, causing severe disruption, lengthy downtime and probable pollution of the surrounding area. Our engineers are highly trained and experienced in operating within the challenging, high-risk conditions that this type of work entails."
Jet Aire Services has been established for over 30 years, and has a Middlesbrough office In North Yorkshire in addition to its Aberford HQ in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
The company's services also include tankering and waste disposal, UV lining, infiltration sealing, robotic cutting, root cutting, epoxy spray ultracoating, groundworks and landscaping.
Jet Aire Services also holds both ISO9001 and ISO14001 internationally recognised standards for Quality Management as well as OHSAS 18001 certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management.
