New speakers have been added to the BIFM's Think FM conference.

The British Institute of Facilities Management's ThinkFM conference will take place in London on 1 May.

Speakers already confirmed include: Ed Hudson, head of corporate services at UBS, Jeremy Waud, chairman at Incentive FM Group, and Ruby McGregor Smith (former Mitie CEO, now advising Mace Group).

Lionel Prodgers of Agents 4RM will introduce a session designed to alert delegates to some dangers and opportunities. Paul Bhuhi will explain Mitie's Connected Workspace project, which uses building environmental and people data to provide 'actionable insight' for clients.

There will be an 'Internet of Things' case study of The Burj Khalifa, from Fadi Alshakhshir and Bashar Mohammad Kassab from EMAAR Properties, and Dr Ruhul Amin and Professor Michael Pitt will also offer insights from a collaborative project between industry and academia on condition-based maintenance.

The conference will also feature author and commentator Vicky Pryce giving her views on the potential impact of Brexit, how the UK can rebalance its economy and, most importantly for FMs, whether the productivity conundrum can be solved.

BIFM has designed this conference to offer "compelling content for people operating at all levels in FM. There will be two streams, so delegates can choose between strategic insights or practical takeaway learnings".

BIFM has announced proposals to change its name to the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management, so it is timely that a session of the conference is dedicated to looking at the opportunities of 'Workplace' and the skills needed to take advantage of them.

BIFM's chief executive Linda Hausmanis said: "Facilities management is being increasingly recognised as having the capacity to deliver real performance benefits for companies, but it also faces significant disruptors. We want this conference to ignite the enthusiasm of FMs to seize the opportunities that the current disrupted landscape offers, both to their organisations and them as individuals."

To broaden access to this important professional development opportunity, BIFM is offering delegates the opportunity to bring a third colleague along FREE for every two full-price tickets purchased for the conference. To take advantage of this offer, please book before 18 March.

Details of topics, speakers and tickets are available at www.thinkfm.com. More details on speakers and the programme will be released over coming weeks. Follow @ThinkFM for all the latest conference news and updates.

For those wanting to raise their brand profile within the industry, sponsorship and exhibitor packages are still available at: www.thinkfm.com/sponsorship
