The National Living Wage will increase to £7.83 in April, according to Chancellor's Philip Hammond's Spring Statement delivered yesterday.
The chancellor said the rise would be worth £600 extra a year for a full-time worker.
He added that National Minimum Wage rates for under-25s and apprentices will also go up, which he said was "the largest increase in youth rates in 10 years".
More than two million people are expected to benefit from April's increases.
Rising cost inflation from the National Living Wage is one of facilities management industry's biggest challenges.
