Public service provider Amey has acquired the Ministry of Defence's (MoD) regional prime and national housing prime contracts.
Formerly managed as a joint venture between Carillion and Amey, the contracts include a range of military infrastructure and housing services delivered on behalf of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), including the repair and maintenance of service family homes and other assets on the MoD estate.
Amey provides services to the MoD's Whitehall headquarters as well as delivering and maintaining a worldwide fleet of vehicles for the department through its joint venture ALC.
Under the new deal, a team of analysts will be tasked with processing vast amounts of project data and creating real-time performance dashboards to improve the way maintenance tasks are scheduled and mobile workforces managed.
Andy Milner, Amey's chief executive officer, said: "Our aim has been to ensure that service personnel and their families continue to receive a high-quality, uninterrupted service and I am pleased that we have managed to secure 4,000 jobs in the process.
"I am looking forward to working with the client, military families and supply chain to unlock further service improvements through the life of the contract."
