Transport for London (TfL)'s Head Office's Facilities Management portfolio was awarded facilities management team of the year at last night's CIBSE Building Performance Awards ceremony in London.
In explaining their selection process, the Chartered Institution of Building Service Engineers' awards judges commended the winning team for the success of its behavioural change programme and its 'collaborative approach'.
TfL's head office portfolio covers the organisation's 55 Broadway headquarters and the Buckingham Palace Road complex above Victoria Coach Station. The portfolio's energy management is carried out by the infrastructure and sustainability branch of the team, and accredited against the Carbon Trust standard.
The award for overall Building Performance Champion 2019, selected from the 14 category winners, was given to the international project of the year won by the EY Centre in Sydney, Australia. The building, a 33-floor office tower, was developed and built by Australian developer Mirvac. It was chosen for its delivery of premium office space while meeting demanding sustainability targets.
