Facilities and environmental services firm Assist Group has secured a contract to carry out highway weed control services on behalf of Knowsley Council in Merseyside.
The two-year contract, which began on March, includes a possible one-year extension.
The deal provides the borough with "an effective weed control programme to eradicate all grass and weed growth to kerbs and channels, footways, alleyways, traffic islands and splitter islands, subways and car parks and recreation areas".
This agreement expands the company's current relationship with the Knowsley Council. Assist has worked with the local authority for over eight years, delivering tree and woodland maintenance works, and highways incident response services.
Assist has at least 15 years' experience of working with a range of customers across the UK, carrying out highway maintenance services, tree and woodlands, grounds maintenance, winter maintenance, cleaning, property solutions and surfacing.
