APPOINTMENT: The BSIA has appointed David Scott as the new managing director of Skills for Security. Skills for Security works with employers to improve security skills and standards of professionalism by providing access to apprenticeship security training courses and security qualifications for people employed in security roles across the UK.
CONTRACT: Kier has been appointed to deliver a £13.9 million full internal fit-out at Barnsley blood centre in Capitol Park, Dodworth by NHS and Blood Transplant. The facility is due for completion in the second quarter of 2020 and, once opened, it will become one of the most advanced cell research centres in the world.
FUNDRAISING: FM service provider Atalian Servesthas selected Mind, Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland as its charities of the year, following an employee vote. Atalian Servest's dedicated charity committee will oversee the company's fundraising activity in support of these three charities until December 2020 when new charities will benefit from the initiative.
APPOINTMENT:Access control company Intratone has appointed Victor D'Allancéas its new UK country managerto lead the company's continued growth. He previously spent three years at technology start-up firm Devialet.
CAMPAIGN: On Tuesday 15 October 2019 it is Global Handwashing Day. This annual day is dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing. The campaign helps to influence behaviour change and encourage healthy hand hygiene.
