AWARDS: Washroom and hygiene services provider phs Group has won two public relations awards for its campaigns supporting period equality. The firm won two out of two awards at the CIPR Cymru Wales Pride Awards 2019; gold for the best Education campaign and silver for Corporate and Business Communications.
CONTRACT: Amey and construction and civil engineering company Sir Robert McAlpine have been awarded a contract by Highways England to transform a key motorway junction in Cheshire next year. These improvements will speed up journeys and reduce congestion around the roundabout that already provides a free-flow link from the Knutsford and Bowdon bypass on to the southbound M6. There will also be improvements for pedestrians and cyclists.
SUSTAINABILITY: Mitie has begun rolling out its first electric vans, with vehicles rolling out on roads across the UK. The new vans will join the 98 electric cars that Mitie already has in its fleet, following its commitment to switch 20 per cent of its cars and small vans to electric by 2020.
SUSTAINABILITY: Incentive QAS has won the Sustainability - Best Practice category at the European Cleaning and Hygiene Awards 2019. The judges looked at a number of key areas including corporate social responsibility , staff wellbeing and the use of products and processes designed to reduce any impact on the environment.
