Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust has awarded ISS Facility Services Healthcare a contract to deliver non-clinical soft FM services across the trust.
The seven-year contract will see services carried out at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospital Lewisham and associated community sites. Staff and members of the public were involved in the tendering process over the past year.
This represents a contract retention for ISS at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and will involve about 400 staff transferring to ISS from University Lewisham Hospital.
The deal has enabled both the trust and ISS to introduce change and innovation across the board. ISS is committed to investing over £4 million in new equipment and technology. It will also continue to focus on the development of its staff through the ISS Academy model, which will enable the operational and transformational change.
The contract will also include an on-site training academy, allowing new employees to be fully trained before they start patient-facing roles. Career progression across the trust has also been identified as a positive approach for those who wish to serve the people of Lewisham and Greenwich.
ISS will supply a wide range of services, including patient catering, retail catering, healthcare cleaning, window cleaning and pest control, portering and mailroom, linen and laundry, accommodation management, waste management and help desk and switchboard.
