SOCIAL VALUE: ABM UK kicked off year three of its Junior Engineering Engagement Programme (J.E.E.P.), a programme that aims to tackle misperceptions among children and their parents of the FM industry and create a pipeline of future technical talent. ABM will take the programme into 12 new schools, reaching new students in London, Leeds, Manchester and Bradford. Running from November 2019 to March 2020, year three will see more than 250 budding engineers participate in the programme.
APPOINTMENT: Global real estate adviser CBRE has appointed Lisa White as vice-president of people for the EMEA regions of CBRE's Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) business. White joins from Lendlease, where she held the role of global head of culture and head of HR Europe. During her various leadership roles she has focused on developing HR strategies to improve performance and facilitate business growth as well as championing the talent, cultural change and diversity agendas.
AWARD: Global service provider Atalian Servest has won the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Corporate Ethical Mark for the third year running. To gain the accreditation, businesses must measure and improve their current performance, adopt the CIPS code of ethics and publicly state a commitment to ethical sourcing.
APPOINTMENT: Jet Aire Services has appointed Robert Stewart as quantity surveyor to support a wide range of projects and contracts nationwide. Stewart joins from Deltabloc UK, where he oversaw barrier construction on the latest phase of smart motorway upgrades on the M6.
AWARD: Security provider Amulet won 'Security Guarding Company of the Year over £25m Turnover' category at the Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2019. Amulet was named winner because of its demonstrated professionalism, consistency of service and responsibility to both customers and staff.
